Stressed!

Do you feel stressed out? Do you get headaches a lot? If you do what do you do to take care of your body and your stress?

I went yesterday to have a massage and as I was going I could feel a tension headache coming on. I couldn't wait to get there and have her take away the headache! As I sat in the waiting room and it kept getting worse I tried not to think about a lot of things to stress myself anymore. I tried to enjoy the peace and quiet. I listened to the sound of the nice indoor water fountain that they had. It was very beautiful and relaxing!

She finally came and took me back and about 2 minutes after massaging my neck and shoulders she asked if I got tension headaches. Hmm funny you should ask! YES I do! A little bit later she said do you get them a lot? Yes I do! She said I could work on this particular side for 3 hours. My thoughts were please go ahead. I have all the time in the world for this! She mentioned how people come in all the time saying the have a lot of tension, but I was the first person she had worked on in a long time that tense.

I have to sit down and wonder why I am so tense. I am happy with my life! However, with reality I think I know why I am so stressed all of the time. I have two young girls who are very active in school, sports and socially! I have a house to keep clean, animals to care for and a husband I want to stay happy. I have to be a cook, clean, work and being a good mom, wife and friend. That is a lot that we have to do with. Now I am not complaining because I know this is normal for everybody. After figuring out why I am so stressed I need to figure out how to fix it.

One great stress reliever for me is taking baths. I love to just go off by myself and run a HOT bath light some candles and sit for awhile in the peace and quiet. I know I can't worry about getting everything done. I am not PERFECT and I do not have to pretend that I am! My house doesn't have to be spotless. I truly need to have peace with myself and what I can do and work on the rest the next day. It is ok! My family will survive as long as they are fed. :)

So if you are feeling stressed and overworked. Take some time for yourself. Have a bubble bath, go out with some friends or go alone. Take care of yourself and everybody around you will be happy!

Business or Hobby?

Do you treat your business as a hobby or a business? It is so easy to get overwhelmed in a business and frustrated. You see people in your company succeeding and you feel like you are doing everything you can, but you aren't making progress. Sound familiar? Ask yourself these questions:

Are you really treating your business as a business?
Are you working your business?
Do you expect Success?
Do you want financial freedom?

You can be successful in your business, but it does take work. You have to be able to spend time on your business online and offline. So how do you do that?

Take time to visit forums and network groups. Make yourself known. People don't want to do business online anymore unless they know YOU! They need to feel comfortable with YOU! So you have to participate and get to know others out there. It is crucial to answering posts and creating your own posts. It can be about anything! You have to have confidence that YOU can do this and be successful too!

Make goals for yourself and stick to them! Create a dream board. Print out pictures of things you want, write on there where you want to be in a month, 6 months or a year. Print out pictures of vacations you want to take or a car you have your eye on. Or you can start small and print out a picture of a restaurant you want to eat at, but just can't afford it.

Send out cards to any leads you may get online and offline. Create contests to attract people to your website! ALWAYS follow up with potential customers whether it be by email, phone call or regular mail! This is also very crucial for your business.

Business is not going to take off on its own. So treat it like a business and not a hobby! Eventually it will pay off and you will be able to slow down on your work, but it will take time. Don't get frustrated. Have fun and be successful!

About a year ago my boss had a cat jump under one of his crew trucks and ride back to the office with them. She was a mess, on the verge of death. Dr. Saterwhite took her in gave her all of her shots and we had to feed her medicine with an eye dropper. We were not sure of a name but a little girl kept calling her kitty man and it just stuck. She is a shop cat and is very loving and sweet.

Kittman had 6 kittens on April 28th. She has been such a great mother so far! She hardly ever leaves their side and when she does and they cry she runs right back to them. They are constantly attached to their mother. It is so neat to watch. They are just like newborn babies.

She is always loving on them and taking her paw and holding them. So precious!

Networking

Networking is very crucial for your business. However, it isn't just about promoting your business and products. Networking is about making relationships. It is very hard for people to purchase products or even sign up as a distributor under you if they don't know you. Networking is the way to get people to know you.

So how do you go about building relationships? The most important thing to do on forums and groups is to post. It is very easy to go to a group and read post and feel like you are a part of the group, but if others don't see you posting they don't know you are there. You need to be consistent and post at least weekly, daily if you can.

Where are some good network groups? It is important to find your niche as well. If you are selling or looking for distributors that work at home, you can frequent work at home forums. If you sell healthy and wellness products, frequent those type of groups. If you love to cook, you can find forums related to cooking. If you love animals, find groups related to animals. The best place to find these groups is by googling these topics.

Believing In Your Products

Do you believe in the products you sell 100%? Do you believe in the company's beliefs?

I am proud to say that I believe in our products and the company 100%! I have been burning our candles for 5 years and am still impressed every time I light a candle! I love that it doesn't let off that black soot, that my family isn't inhaling any thing bad for them and that it is better for our environment!

The most exciting part is that it doesn't leave any extra wax along the jars of the candle allowing you to get your money's worth all the way to the bottom of the jar! Also the fact that it is made out of American products.

Treating Your Customers Right

I believe that the customers are ALWAYS right! If you were to go to a hotel and go into your nonsmoking room and come back and tell the front desk that your room had been smoked it, what would you expect them to do? How would you react if they told you that it had not been smoked it and they refused to move you? I am thinking you probably wouldn't be happy.

I believe in allowing my customers to return their products if they are not 100% happy even if I know there is nothing wrong with the product. My main goal as a distributor is to keep my customers happy allowing them to return when they need more products.

If you are not receiving the same satisfaction, then you should rethink who you are working with. It is very important for you to believe in products and the company you are purchasing from.

I haven't shared my good news yet! As of November I was promoted with my home based business! I am so excited! I went from a Diamond to a 10K Distributor! WOOHOO! Now my goal is to make Double Diamond. It shouldn't be that hard of a goal.

This business has proven to be so amazing! It still is taking me awhile to get focused and buckle down. I see the potential I just can't get myself in gear, which amazes me because I am making good money not working my business the way I should. Can you imagine what would happen if I actually worked the business?! I can definitely imagine! I see a pool in my backyard, taking the girls on a Disney Cruise and many more amazing things!

I am not saying that it is always that easy. It does take work, but it is so worth it! I need to focus on building myself up and then work on sharing our amazing company with others! I have a hard time talking to people one on one. Although I know in my heart that I am really doing them a favor by sharing our products and business opportunity with them it is still hard. I guess the thought of rejection is hard to deal with.

So here is to focusing and working on my business everyday in 2009! It will be a successful year!

I feel like a Thief!

Every month I go to my company website in anticipation of what my commission check will be. Of course, during the Holidays it is always bigger. I was shocked at how BIG it was this month! I was thrilled with the amount!

I made more this month with my candle company than I did working 80 hours with my part time job. WOW! The best part is that I probably put in about 10 hours total for the month with my candle biz.

No wait that isn't the best part! I love working on the candle biz! It is a lot of fun! I spend my time online networking and get to meet lots of amazing people! How hard is that?

I am not going to say that it is always this easy, but I have been in the business for 5 years and it really has been simple. I know if I put a lot more time and energy into my business I could be making a lot of money! Of course, the more you put into it the more you make!

I have been so blessed to find such an amazing home business! Our company provides training calls almost daily, lots of training manuals and amazing support! The owners of our company and wonderful and always helpful!

Amazing Way to hold a Party!

Do you like hosting parties? I know I love to, but I am not fond of all the cleaning and cooking that I have to do to get ready! I am not crazy about all of the set up with the products and making sure everything looks just perfect!

Doing online parties is perfect for me. I don't have to worry about any of the cleaning, cooking or set up. I also get really nervous talking in front of large crowds.

When I am working an online party I am relaxed and feel very comfortable. I don't have to worry about all the eyes being on me. It seems to make the party run smoothly.

What is an online party you ask? It is exactly like doing a home party without all the stress. You present the products just as you would at a home party. The only different is that you are in a chat room and you can't actually see anybody.

I always start my parties off with talking about the products, ask if there are any questions, play a game and then end with the business opportunity. Then when I am finished I open it up for questions again.

I usually give away a $10 gift for my game and there are so many different games that you can play. The best thing to do is google "online party games". You will find a ton of matches and you can find a game you feel comfortable playing.

My favorite game is anytime I say (type) the word "candle" the first person who types "gotchya" gets a point. At the end of the presentation the person with the most points wins. This is a great way to make sure your customers are paying attention!

I have been doing online parties for awhile now and it has brought me a lot of business and some recruits. It is a great way to get your business out there and have FUN at the same time!

Working From Home and Loving IT!

I have been working on my home business for five years now and am still enjoying every minute of it! There are so many reasons why I love working from home! Here are a few:

I can work in my pajamas (like I am doing right now)
I can work when I want to
I don't have anybody watching over my shoulder
I can work at my own pace
I can take a vacation day or sick day anytime

These are a few reasons why I love to work at home and I am learning that they are very important to me and help make my job FUN! I love the fact that if my girls call me and say they don't feel good, that I can leave immediately without worrying about what the boss is going to say!

On the flip side you can enjoy taking the day off whenver you want, but you also have to remember that you have to do your work beforehand. The beauty of working from home is that you can us e many tools to get you started and allow them to work for you while you take time off.

For example, it is important to have a personal website. Once you create your personal website it will do the talking for you! Once you have visitor coming to your site and getting interested in your business then your site will do a lot of your work for you! Your site will work for you 24 hours a day!

Holidays

I am so excited that Christmas is so close. I had the best Thanksgiving that I have had in a long time! It was hard it being the first one without my mom, but I was able to stay home and relax almost all day!

My oldest had strep throat so we stayed home and put up the Christmas tree, watched TV and hung out together. Later in the afternoon we were able to go to my in-laws to spend time with family.

Now it is time to finish decorating and start shopping. I love Christmas time! However, shopping for my girls is a nightmare! They don't play with toys EVER! So we end up buying useless presents. Thankfully, I have learned and am a lot more careful with what I purchase!

Now I am off to research the best presents this year!

Family

Family is very important part of my life. When I was 20 I moved from Indiana to Florida to be with my boyfriend, whom became my husband shortly after I moved. It was hard to leave the only home I had ever known. I was 11 hours away from home.

When I moved I knew only a handful of people. It didn't take long to fall into a routine though. I found a job and began making friends. Mostly building my relationship with my future husband though.

I would come home a couple of times a year to visit family. At first I would come home for Christmas or Thanksgiving. Of course, that didn't last long. I started my own family and it was necessary to be at home for the girls.

Although I love my life, it has been hard to miss out on my niece's and nephew's lives. Their ball games, recitals, baptisms, etc. I missed out on my cousin's growing up.

I write this because I am on my yearly visit to Indiana visiting my family. I was able to watch my nephew play baseball. It was so fun to sit in the stands with my aunt and cousin.

My favorite part of the trip is to watch my girls play with their cousins who they dearly love. I hope my girls can grow up to cherish their family the way I do!

Teenagers and Movies

My friends invited me to the movies last night and I was so excited because I hadn't gone out with them in a long time. They had already decided to see the movie The Happening. I am not big on scary movies, but figured it would be alright. They knew I was a little nervous when we got there so of course we were kidding around about it.

As we were walking down the hall to go to the movie these workers kept running past us to another movie theater. We kept asking what was going on, but they just kept running past us. Naturally, we stopped and kept watching and wondering. One of the girl workers finally confessed that there was a couple in a theater doing their thing. She said that the girl looked to be 15 - 16 and she didn't have a top on. We were appalled.

One of my friends has a 15 year old daughter so she said "I am going down there to see if I know her." So off we go! We walk in to this movie and sure enough the girl was telling the truth although the girl did have a shirt on. She got off the boy when she saw us and we just walked back out.

When we left our movie we ran in to some of the workers and they told us that the couple had left mad because everybody kept coming in there.

I was shocked! I have learned that I will never let my children go to the movies alone. It just amazes me what kids do now a days. I can't imagine having enough nerve to do things like this.

Summer

I hope everybody is enjoying their summer. I know my girls and I are. I have been kind of lazy and taken a few weeks off since getting done with school. We went to the beach for a few days with a good friend and had a wonderful time. I was also able to visit with a friend that I have known since third grade. I got to meet her two beautiful children.

We are starting to hang out at the pool in the afternoons. My girls love to swim and I love the sun so it works for us.

We will go to Indiana for a two vacation to visit family and friends. We also have fun when we go home. It is always jammed pack full of fun!

I am going to live out my summer the best I can before I have to go back to work. I do need to start working my candle business a little bit too. :)

Well I have stated before in my blogs that we have had a rough year, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. We have 45 days left of school. I am so excited about the summer! I have a new job lined up, my daughter started a new school last week and my sister had surgery and she is doing pretty good.

We have been trying to get our daughter into a Magnet school for a long time now and she finally got in last week. She has had an amazing week! She loves her teacher although she does miss her old one. She already knew at least 5 kids just in her class. So it has been such a blessing. I wasn't sure where we would end up next year, but instead of stressing over it I handed it over to God and he took care of it for me. We are struggling a little bit with the work at her new school being different than what she is use too, but I don't think it will take her long at all to catch on.

We began with a new church about 4 months ago (maybe 3) and I will be the assistant to the Pastor starting in the spring. I am very excited about this. I love working at the school with children, but it really isn't my calling. Being behind a computer...that is my calling. :)

My sister had a tumor on her spine and she had it removed last week. She had a really rough time, but she seems to be doing much better. There have been no complications as far as nerve damage from them cutting her spinal cord and some nerves. She has been experiencing headaches, but I think they are even getting better. YEAY! What a blessing! I am so glad that things are going ok for her!

I don't get to see her very often so it was so awesome! I was able to take the day off of work and spend some time with her just the two of us.

I have three very good friends from back home and I love spending time with them. I miss them so much! We have that kind of relationship where you can go all year without talking, but when we are together it feels like we haven't been apart. I am sooo lucky to have each of them in my life.

I have to say that they would be about the only reason I would move home. I never imagined not raising our kids together and it makes me sad that I am not a big part in their kid's lives. It makes me even sadder that they aren't a big part in my kid's lives.

I hope they know how much I love them and miss them!

Networking Online

When I first began my business I immediately fell in love with the idea of working my business online. I love to work on the computer so the thought of doing something I love and making money at the same time was amazing!

I began visiting different message boards and instantly make friends, which I am still friends with 4 years later. However, just visiting the boards wasn't enough. I had to build those relationships and participate on the networks rather than just show up every once in awhile and post an ad or two.

I realized most people don't read the ads. I know I don't unless it is something I am looking for at the time. So I had to let these people know they could relate to me and also trust me. I took an interest in their lives and really cared about what was going on with them. I learned about their products, their business, their families and their interests.

I have noticed a major drop in my recruiting after not spending as much time on message boards and building those relationships. It is very important to be consistent!

So if you have a business that you want to work online get out their and build relationships. It is easy and fun!

American Idol

I love to watch American Idol. I have been a pretty faithful watcher since the third season. Nowadays I have to TIVO and watch it on my time, but I try not to miss an episode. I love to watch the audition process, but then it gets down to the real competition and it is can be so intense.

I had picked my favorite in the very beginning. I fell in love with Josiah! It was more his situation than anything. Although he is a great singer! I just wish he would have been given a chance to see how he would do in the competition.

I was so excited to hear about him being on Ellen this morning. I was sorry I missed it, but KUDOS to Ellen for believing in him and helping him.

I hope to see more of Josiah after this!

I can't wait to see how everybody done tonight!

I have been with my gourmet candle business for over 4 years and it has been an amazing journey! I absolutely love this company! I hadn't been in direct sales before and I am not much of a salesperson, but I don't have to be.

I love the fact that I can set my own prices, work any and every area of the business for example fundraising, retail, and/or recruiting! I also love that I only have to pay less than $50 every month to be a part of this amazing company. For that $50 I receive some amazing products! I don't have to worry about meeting a $250 monthly minimum or $400 home party quota.

I personally working my business online! There are so many ways to be successful online. The most important thing to remember about networking is to build relationships and to be active online. I know when I have the time to devote to my networking groups my sales and recruits really go up.

My company is so supportive! The people of like family and very helpful. If you ever need anything, there is always somebody there to help you! Even if they aren't your upline! The company provides training calls almost daily. We have yahoo groups and message boards with gobs of information!

How much more?

My girls attend a Christian private school affiliated with our church. We had a lot happen in our church over the past 6 months and we decided to leave, but keep the girls at the same school. I happen to work at this school as well and we have been put through the ringer since the church mess began.

Well my boss has been suffering terribly for many different reasons. A lot of the reasons stem from the church, but there are some school issues as well. My boss went on vacation over the holidays and at the end of her vacation she has a mild heart attack. Her doctors instructed her she needed to resign due to all of the stress she is under.

Over the past four years her daughter has been battling a sickness where she is unable to keep any food down. Her intestines just stopped working and they have not been able to come up with a solution on how to make her feel better. She has been so sick throughout the past 4 years.

Sadly tonight her daughter passed away. My heart breaks for my boss! I can't imagine losing my child. This was her only daughter and she is already under so much stress. I pray that she will survive this and God will give her the strength to make it through this! I pray that she knows how much she is loved and respected! I pray that God will wrap his arms around her and her husband and hold them tightly through this horrible loss. I pray that her suffering will end here and she will not have to endure any more pain. She has been through way too much!

How I began my journey!

It all started about 4 years ago. I received a phone call from my sister telling me that a friend had just shared with her a business opportunity involving cleaner burning candles. Well you see I had made a friend a few years before that who was selling candles that he made on the side. I was really impressed with the candles and the price that I wanted to see him succeed. He ended up moving to a different state and then I moved even further away and we lost contact. Over the years I had thought about him and wondered how his business was doing.

Back to my phone call! I immediately knew this was something I wanted to pursue. I told my sister to quickly sign up so that I could sign up under her. I couldn't get her to move quick enough. I was so excited. Mind you I haven't even smelled the candles or seen the product yet. I just knew it was right for me! I got online right away and started doing my research. I started learning everything I could about this company and their cleaner burning candles!

Finally, I got signed up and within a week I received my first dozen of 16 oz Jars. WOW!!!!! I could smell the candles from the outside of the box. I was so impressed. I can say that after being with this company for 4 years I am still so impressed with these candles! They burn evenly, the scent fills my entire house, they last forever and smell good all the way to the bottom of the jar!

Three years ago

Three years ago on this day I received the most devastating news! Ist was about this time (10:00 pm) my sister called to tell me my father had passed away.

We had spent the weekend in TN for my daughter's cheerleading competition. We got home late Sunday night and Monday I kept thinking I needed to call my dad, but for some reason I didn't do it. I said I would do it the next day. Well the next day didn't come for him.

My sister had called around 8 or so to tell me that dad was taken to the hospital, but she didn't have any details. We didn't think it was anything. See I live in GA and they live in IN. So there wasn't anything I could do, but wait. I waited patiently because I didn't expect anything to be really wrong. He had a massive heart attack and had died before the paramedics even arrived to his house.

He was one of my best friends. He was always there for me and I could tell him anything! He always knew had to make things better. We had so many wonderful times together and I am so grateful that God gave me such a wonderful father.

Surviving

We started back to school on Tuesday and were hit with devastating news. Our principle, which is also my boss, suffered a mild heart attack over the holidays. She had to resign due to her condition. I am so sad that she is not there with us anymore, but am excited she is away from all the stress she has been put under. I am hoping she can focus on herself and her family and get some rest.

She is the most Godliest woman I have ever met. She has been such a wonderful role model to me for the past 2 1/2 years. Although I regret that we have just become closer over the past 5-6 months, I am very fortunate to have had her as my boss and my girl's principle.

I have learned so much from her! I have grown so much spiritually because of her. She always reminds me that everything happens for a reason and that God is in control. I pray that God will keep his hands on her and her family, heal them and help them to live a healthy and happy life!

Back To Work We Go

I have been off work for the past two weeks and it has been so nice. The girls and I have laid in bed until 9 or 10 in the morning. We would just lay in bed together and watch TV or talk. It was so relaxing!

It all had to end this weekend though. I started back to work today. It was suppose to be a short day, but ended up being a little longer than I had anticipated. I am a Teacher's Assistant so we had a lot to get ready for before the kids start back.

The students start back tomorrow! I am hoping we have an easy day, but I am sure the kids will be excited to be back with their friends so you never know how the day will go. I am excited to see the kids though.

Wish me luck! I hope I don't turn the alarm off and go back to sleep.
