Do you feel stressed out? Do you get headaches a lot? If you do what do you do to take care of your body and your stress?
I went yesterday to have a massage and as I was going I could feel a tension headache coming on. I couldn't wait to get there and have her take away the headache! As I sat in the waiting room and it kept getting worse I tried not to think about a lot of things to stress myself anymore. I tried to enjoy the peace and quiet. I listened to the sound of the nice indoor water fountain that they had. It was very beautiful and relaxing!
She finally came and took me back and about 2 minutes after massaging my neck and shoulders she asked if I got tension headaches. Hmm funny you should ask! YES I do! A little bit later she said do you get them a lot? Yes I do! She said I could work on this particular side for 3 hours. My thoughts were please go ahead. I have all the time in the world for this! She mentioned how people come in all the time saying the have a lot of tension, but I was the first person she had worked on in a long time that tense.
I have to sit down and wonder why I am so tense. I am happy with my life! However, with reality I think I know why I am so stressed all of the time. I have two young girls who are very active in school, sports and socially! I have a house to keep clean, animals to care for and a husband I want to stay happy. I have to be a cook, clean, work and being a good mom, wife and friend. That is a lot that we have to do with. Now I am not complaining because I know this is normal for everybody. After figuring out why I am so stressed I need to figure out how to fix it.
One great stress reliever for me is taking baths. I love to just go off by myself and run a HOT bath light some candles and sit for awhile in the peace and quiet. I know I can't worry about getting everything done. I am not PERFECT and I do not have to pretend that I am! My house doesn't have to be spotless. I truly need to have peace with myself and what I can do and work on the rest the next day. It is ok! My family will survive as long as they are fed. :)
So if you are feeling stressed and overworked. Take some time for yourself. Have a bubble bath, go out with some friends or go alone. Take care of yourself and everybody around you will be happy!
